Basic Campaign Information

Even with Spring State being approximately eight and a half weeks away, I know that time is already speeding by us. It was already four days ago that I declared my running for Speaker of the Assembly.

For those who are just now looking at this site for the first time, I would like to sum up the basics of my campaign. If you are looking to endorse my campaign for Speaker, this may aid your decision.

The basic goals and focuses of my campaign (condensed from my platform):

ACTIVISM
  • Incentivize activism by allowing reduced convention costs for individuals who take part in activism, and allowing one free convention attendance for one delegate of any chapter that collectively participates in activism.
ASSEMBLY
  • Keep chapters informed of Assembly activities by emailing them one week before AND after each Assembly meeting, detailing the events of each meeting in each email.
  • Work with the Speaker's Department, as well as chapter presidents, to devise ways of making the Assembly more enticing.
REACHING OUR NATION
  • Strengthen the Advocacy Program by beginning immediate advocacy of legislation approved at both Fall States.
  • Enact a monthly evaluation of advocacy progress, to evaluate what better methods could be used to advocate legislation, so we can better reach our nation.
If you have any questions about my campaign, please feel free to send me an email at aaronburkart.1@gmail.com. You can also email me if you have any suggestions for my platform, or any questions regarding endorsements, or even JSA in general.

Welcome!

As if having a Facebook, Twitter and Formspring for my campaign weren't enough, this is my official blog for my campaign! Any news on one days, chapter conventions, or anything JSA on my mind will be here.

I'll have my platform up shortly, and from there, I hope to gain the trust of all of you who see this blog. I will also have endorsements up shortly, so you can see the people in JSA that do trust in me, my campaign and my focuses.
